Evolutionary Dogma and Truth
In Just a Thought, November 23rd, 2009
Have you considered the relationship between evolutionary dogma and truth?
To hold to evolutionary dogma, even though there is no accepted theory about first causes (or origins), one must deny the existence of a supernatural force, a benevolent Creator God. That is why the theory of Intelligent Design be must thoroughly ridiculed, that is if one holds sacred the evolutionary theory.
The problem is that without a transcendent authority, there is no “ought to”, there is no reason that science must record data accurately, report data thoroughly or abandoned firmly held beliefs in the face of contrary evidence.
In the world where evolution is king, the theory is the dominant force and to discard contrary data or distort data in order to support one’s pet theories is a tempting path without any transcendent reason not to do so.
Hence, man caused global warming persists as a viable theory requires draconian measures to save the earth, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

We can affect localized pollution with emissions controls, but the atmosphere and the oceans are incredible filters and cleansers, emitting CO2 when necessary and absorbing it when necessary to maintain a balance. We can no more make an appreciable difference in the global amount of CO2 than we can affect the global temperature, but we can use CO2 as an excuse to tax an infinite amount of money and add it to the general budget (not to technology aimed at limiting emissions).
