Integrity Compels

What distinguishes honest political differences from rank partisanship?

Rank partisanship refuses to acknowledge any positive achievements by the opposition. Honest political discourse requires giving credit when and where it is due.

I am a strong critic of this administration’s positions on deficit spending, the national debt, the idea that big government is the answer, in criminalizing terrorist acts…the list seems endless; but integrity compels me to give the President credit on several fronts.

His use of drones to disrupt and terrorize al Qaeda leadership is yielding good results. His decision to add troops to Afghanistan was the right thing to do. And, his strong support for building new nuclear power facilities in America is exactly on target.

Well done, Mr. President.

To deny these positive decisions in favor of constant criticism would be to become like our protagonists–so blinded by their agenda that they ignore any positive achievements.
