Consent of the Governed
In Just a Thought, March 31st, 2010
Have you heard these words before, “…deriving their just power from the consent of the governed”?
Penned by Thomas Jefferson, they are a part of our Declaration of Independence. He went on to say that when there is a history of corruption and abuse of power in the government, we have a duty to, “throw off such government and provide new safeguards for (our) future security.”
The arrogance, corruption and abuse of power demonstrated by this government is breathtaking. The government in DC, has shown such disdain for the consent of the governed as to disqualify themselves as public servants. Rather they have made us their servants.
We must vote them out in November…but more, we must, as Jefferson said, “provide new safeguards for our future security”
We must launch the Second American Revolution.
What does that mean? We must amend the constitution so that no future politician can ever attempt to take our freedoms again!
