We Need More Jimmy Stewarts

Do you remember Jimmy Stewart?
A Hollywood icon for 50 years, Stewart played underdogs thrust into impossible situations where doing the right thing called for personal sacrifice and there was no guarantee that doing the right thing would result in the triumph of good over evil. Yet his characters persevered.
In real life he was the same kind of man. At the height of his career he left Hollywood for WW II, flew more than 20 combat missions over Germany. He earned the rank of Brigadier General. In the moral decay of tinsletown, he remained faithfully married to one woman his entire life.
From “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” to “It’s a Wonderful Life” and all the westerns in between, Jimmy Stewart has left us wonderful examples of the American character. He is the epitome of the man on main street standing against the excesses in Washington.
Pray there are enough Jimmy Stewarts left among us that we may take our country back.
