When was the last time you heard anything significant about the war in Iraq?
It seems as if it has disappeared from the main stream media’s reporting…unless you count the headlines about troop withdrawals. But back in the days of Bush/Cheney, when the casualty rates were high and the newly elected government was struggling to get its feet on the ground, it was the lead story nightly. But then there was the surge…remember?
Today, Americans rarely hear anything. But the London Times recently reported we have reached, quote, “the culmination of one of the most spectacular victories in the war on terror.”
Only 1200 armed Al-Qaida supporters remain in the country and they are bottled up in Mosul. AND, our State Department reports the Iraqi government is making satisfactory progress on 15 of the 18 political benchmarks established as guidelines for victory.
Thank you President Bush…Thank you General Petraeus…Shame on you main stream media for keeping the good news a secret!
