How does President Obama compare with former Presidents FDR and Carter?

In his first 100 days, he has displayed the ego of FDR and the naiveté of Jimmy Carter.

FDR believed that the country could not survive without his leadership, in violation of established tradition; he sought a third and a fourth term. His ego forced a constitutional amendment limiting presidents to two terms in office. President Obama has warned us that if we don’t follow his lead to rescue the economy, we will suffer “irreversible consequences”.

Jimmy Carter believed that his goodness would cause the world to love and respect America…and his policies resulted in the capture of the US Embassy in Iran and the humiliation of having Americans held hostage until his defeat in the 1980 elections.

President Obama’s first venture into the international arena revealed the same naïve approach to other sovereign nations…criticizing his own country to curry their favor…but to no avail.

This time our weakness may encourage another terrorist strike on US soil.
