What is the core ingredient of greatness?

Is it a moment of brilliance? Or the convergence of skill and opportunity? Or, is it something more attainable?

The fundamental…the core ingredient of greatness is steadfastness or faithfulness. It is the willingness to pay the price in time and effort to accomplish the task. How many failures did Thomas Edison endure before he invented the light bulb?

In the early 1960s, a 16 year old boy named Jim Ryan became the first teenager to ever run a sub four minute mile. He went on to become the greatest long distance runner of his generation. Was it the result of his great athleticism? Actually Jim only possessed average athletic skills.

Jim Ryan became the greatest runner of his generation because he ran every day.

Greatness is ultimately faithfulness more than any other single factor!
