Enhanced Interogation Techniques
In Just a Thought, January 21st, 2009
Have you followed the recent discussions surrounding President-elect Obama’s appointment of Leon Panetta to head the CIA?
Our success in deterring terror attacks since 9/11 is due in large part to our successful interrogation of captured terrorists. However, Panetta’s opposition to harsh interrogation techniques will put national security at risk by removing even the threat of these measures…hoping that the Islamic jihadists will be kinder and gentler because of our humanity.
The opposite is actually the truth…seeing our actions as weakness, they will be emboldened.
What the appeasers in our government call torture…waterboarding for example…has been used in U.S. survival training schools on service members to simulate POW conditions.
Although admittedly making a few sailors, soldiers, airmen and marines extremely uncomfortable, to my knowledge none have suffered any permanent injuries.
