How much government is too much government?
If you thought the government was too big before Obama took office…stand by, you aint seen nothing yet.
Polling shows that 85% of Main Street America thinks that government is too big and has too much money…but get this, only 2% of the political class agree. A majority of Americans have a favorable view of the recent tea parties, but the political class strongly disagrees.
That means that while you and I think government is too big and too intrusive, our political class (which includes our politicians and all those sucking off the government) overwhelmingly believes the government is too small.
Over the last few years our government has consumed an average of about 20% of our productive capacity. Under Obama, the goal is to grow government until it consumes over 30% of our productivity.
