So, how’s government run healthcare working for you?
The government is already running significant portions of the American health care industry. Between Medicare, Medicaid and the VA system, the government invests billions of dollars annually in our health care.
To be fair, although there are occasional horror stories about the care…remember the Walter Reed Hospital scandal…the care provided is on par with the private sector. Both of my parents received good care at the end of their lives at affordable prices.
Ahh, but the rub…because the Federal government cannot adequately fund the programs, all three government programs are projected to have unfunded liabilities that will break the back of the programs in the coming years. And most state budgets are in danger of being overwhelmed as well.
Translation: government mismanagement has created a monster they cannot master.
