Effective Government II
In Just a Thought, September 1st, 2009
Continuing our conversation about what effective government should look like… from the viewpoint of a proven expert… he said, “The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give it to those who would not.”
It seems our authority for how effective government should function, believes hard work should be rewarded and the idea government should be in the business of redistributing the wealth is essentially wrong.
It would appear his belief is that every healthy citizen should be earning his own way…this contradicts Karl Marx’s idea that the government should take from each according to his ability and return to each according to his need.
Will Rogers said it this way, “If you make any money, once a year the Congress shoves you in a creek with your money in your pockets…and all that doesn’t get wet, you get to keep.”
Effective government is learning how to bake a bigger pie, rather than continuing to slice the existing pie into smaller and smaller pieces.
