Credibility

Just how important is credibility in public discussions?

Perhaps you’ve seen the dueling auto insurance company ads about which company can save you the most money. All State, Geico, Progressive and State Farm all run ads saying that shifting to them would save you dollars. I’m sure that each company can identify an actual case where the savings are true, but the ads generalize the savings to all of us and that is not credible.

Our liberal friends are having the same problem with their attempts to sell government run healthcare. Common sense says their promises to cover everyone, save money, improve care, keep your insurance, no rationing, eliminate waste and fraud, simply is not credible.

When they make claims about what is and is not in a bill they haven’t even read, when they deny their own public statements taken from Youtube videos, they are not credible…and the public debate suffers.

Nancy, Harry, Barack, we just don’t believe you!
