Which two Presidential elections of the past 100 years were the most important?

Perhaps 1960 and 2008. In those elections we elected our first Catholic and our first black president. Both elections brought us closer to realizing the ideals expressed in our Declaration of Independence and represent critical steps advancing the cause of democracy and human freedom.

But, these precedent shattering men are quite different. One lifted up the virtue of America and stared down evil while the other has apologized for American greatness and appeased evil.

One said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country.”

The other has said, “Ask what your country can do for you and what you can do for your president.”

John F. Kennedy and Barack H. Obama, so important to our democratic ideals, yet one so profoundly wrong in his understanding of the greatness of this nation.
