Public Schools Held Hostage

Do you think the president should speak to all the public school students?
I’m agin it! The issue is not the content of any presidential speech…it is not healthy to set the precedent of allowing anyone access to all our children in one state enforced setting.
Our children have to attend school…and a vast majority of them are in public schools (which is criminal in itself). This audience, held captive by the state, should not be made available to anyone of power or celebrity no matter how noble the cause.
The nature of the audience…young, impressionable…and required by the state to be present…makes it wrong in principle to subject them to a message…any message delivered by the state.
Mass distribute the message…broadcast the message…but never should my champion…or yours…be given access to the entire public school population…the danger of abuse is too great.
