The shrill whistle that launches each "Just a Thought" is actually a ""Bosun's" pipe. On a Navy ship, when the Captain makes an announcement to the entire crew over the intercom, before he speaks, this shrill "All Hands" signal is heard throughout the ship. This alerts the crew to listen up. Just so, when you hear the whistle from your radio, listen up!
